The Hull and Goole College Student Support Services team are based within the Queen’s Gardens site (Hull) but they also provide a service at Goole College. The College is committed to ensuring that all students receive the very highest level of support, from initial enquiry and application, though to successful completion and progression to further study, training or employment – we are here to support you.

Course Information, Advice and Guidance
We know that deciding which course is best for you is one of the most important decisions that you will ever have to make. You will find detailed information about each of the courses that are available to you on this web site.
In addition, expert information, advice and guidance is available to help you choose the right course, whether you are considering coming to college for the first time or progressing from another course we can help. We can provide you with information and advice on further education, higher education and work based training opportunities.
Careers Education and Guidance
Students can visit the Goole Connexions service at Boothferry Road which offers specialist careers advice, including help and guidance with education and career pathways. More information about the Connexions service is available at www.connexionshumber.co.uk. Alternatively www.nextstephumber.org.uk provides information and advice for adults including current information relating to career pathways.
Financial Support
Information about the financial support that may be available to you is available on this web site, whether you are leaving school, applying to higher education or an adult returning to college. We will provide you upon request with information and advice on the extensive range of financial support that may be available to you, this includes our Young People’s Bursary, Adult Learning Grants and, for higher education students, Student Loans and Bursaries.
Help with Transport Costs
If you are a further education student you may be entitled to financial support to help meet the costs of travel to and from college, our team of specialist advisers can provide you with detailed information.
Fees
Information on tuition and examination fees is available upon request. We can also provide details of concessions that may be available if you are in receipt of a qualifying state benefit.
Child Care
Goole College facilities includes an Ofsted inspected child care centre and, dependent upon your personal circumstances, financial support may be available to help meet the costs of child care.
Accommodation
The Student Support Services team is able to provide you with information and advice on a range of accommodation that is available to students living away from home.
Personal Tutor
Every student at the College has a dedicated Personal Tutor. They are available to support you with your work and to work with you to ensure that you are on target to successfully complete your course.
Learning Mentors
A team of specialist Learning Mentors is available to support you and to ensure that you settle into the college community as quickly as possible.
