Job Opportunities in Sport & Active Leisure
Risks & Hazards in Sport & Active Leisure.
There will also be a number of Personal & Social Development units embedded and all learners will be required to complete functional skills in ICT, Literacy and Numeracy.
As a Sports student, you are also provided with the opportunity to develop your performance as an athlete in your particular sport. The sports currently offered by the Hull College Sports Academy are; Football (girls and boys), Rugby, Netball, and Basketball. If you are an individual performer, or the Academy does not offer your sport, the Gym Instructors in the College will put together a fitness plan for you, created in conjunction with the requirements of your coach. You will receive up to six hours professional coaching per week and compete in regional and national competitions on Wednesday afternoons.
Progression from the course can lead to entry onto the First Diploma in Sport, or employment in the Fitness and Leisure industry.
If you are currently competing at regional level or above in your sport, you are eligible to apply for one of our Sports Scholarships to help fund the cost of training, including kit, competitions, transport etc. Please contact Stuart Horsfield - 01482 381948 for further details and an application form.
