Goole College raises funds for Small Pyramids
As part of their ongoing support for the Small Pyramids charity, Goole College learners have come up with new and dynamic fundraising ideas. To find out more and how you can support them, click here!
This year the Public Service learners at Goole College chose to support the Small Pyramids charity in Luxor, Egypt as their fundraising project. Last year learners went to visit the Small Pyramids and carried out voluntary work daily at the respite centre for disabled children.
Eager to get involved, Engineering learners created a pyramid money box which has been displayed so that both learners and visitors to the College can donate any spare change they wish - every little bit counts!
Learners have also designed and made jewellery which will be sold to raise additional money. In the coming months, learners will be challenged to design an emblem or lapel badge to represent the small charity, which again will be sold to raise valuable funds.
Course tutor Judi Bowers commented,
"Learners have really embraced our fundraising this year - many of them have seen first hand the valuable work that the Small Pyramids charity carries out. I am so proud of their hard work and commitment and look forward to returning to Egypt with some of them in June 2010 to complete more worthwhile volunteer work."
