Goole College students dressed up in Star Wars costumes? Click here to find out why!
Goole College Public Services students invaded Goole Town Centre on 4th May, promoting their fantastic new provision, to be offered from September. Dressed as Star Wars characters, the students, led by tutor Judi Bright, inspired their peers to join them as they handed out details of the forthcoming open event at the College, to be held on 10th May.
The Open Event on the 10th is also rather special; not only will the College have its usual stands on its site at Boothferry Road but it will also be promoting the range of great courses available in the shopping precinct in the town centre.
Members of the public can take advantage of free manicures and hair put ups at the stand as well as sample some tasty cookery demonstrations and, of course, there will be a full range of prospectuses, detailing some of the programmes available. Staff and students will be in the precinct between 11.30am and 2.30pm on 10th May before moving back to the College where selected charities and clubs will be fundraising at the front between 3pm and 5pm.
Those with stands include the Scouts, Bluebell Hospice and The Hinge. Following the fundraising the College will be open for its usual Open Event between 5pm and 7pm. Members of the public are welcome to come along and find out what courses are available as well as benefit from advice on programmes, child care and finance.
Goole College staff member Anne Handley is looking forward to the day,
“At Goole College we are always looking for new and fun ways to let our community know about some of the great courses available so we wanted to make this Open Event a bit different. We believe that by putting on these demonstrations in our community we can really show people what Goole College can do for them! Why not come along and see what is available?”
