Full-time education is free to everyone under 20*, and parents and guardians will still receive Child benefits for people under 20 studying full-time. Additional financial help may also be available to you, this includes the HCUK Young People’s Bursary and additional help with travelling costs. *Subject to status and residency.
The rules and regulations covering financial help available are complicated and are dependent upon a person’s individual circumstances. If you have been receiving support at school it is likely that you will be entitled to financial help to study at College. However, some courses may have additional examination and registration fees as well as costs for materials such as stationery.

Following the Government’s withdrawal of Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA), Hull College Group has launched new financial support funds for full-time 16-18 year old students starting from September 2011. The Army has teamed up with Goole College to offer the Further Education Army Bursary to support students while they study. There are a wide range of full-time courses available that can benefit from the Further Education Bursaries from Business and IT, to Health & Social Care. Students selected to receive the award can obtain up to £2000 – call for details.
The facilities at Goole College includes an Ofsted inspected child care centre and, dependent upon your personal circumstances, financial support may be available to help meet the costs of child care, the Student Support Services team can provide further information.
